A debit transaction is a transaction with a debit card to purchase goods or services and to obtain cash, which is debited from the cardholders account. Also known as a direct debit transaction. There are no debit card transaction fees, however one may incur debit card charges if you spend more than the amount available to you in your debit account – known as going into the overdraft.
