This gives customers the option of paying with their chequing account, either for internet retail services, to make a recurring payment or to reload a prepaid store card, thereby eliminating some of the interchange fees per transaction a retail merchant must pay. Electronic items are created and processed through the Automated Clearing House network. This service is not used in the UK.
