Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is a transfer of funds between accounts electronically instead of using paper-based payment methods. EFT is any financial transaction originating from a telephone or electronic terminal, or from a computer or magnetic tape.

Using a credit card (which has a magnetic stripe on it), or an international money transfer via online banking are examples of electronic funds transfer.
