Electronic Mail (Email)

Electronic mail, or email, is a system where a computer user can exchange messages with one or more recipient computers via an electronic communications network. An email address typically has the appearance: [email protected].

Emails are usually sent and receives instantaneously, so are much more efficient and quicker than posting by traditional mail services. Electronic mail is also a free service, whereas post is not.

There are many different companies that provide email services and free email accounts, such as Outlook, Gmail, by Google, Windows Live Hotmail, by Microsoft, MSN mail and many more. You can identify the email provider a user has by the tag. Gmail has the tag @gmail.com whereas MSN has the tag @msn.com.
