Point of Sale System

A point of sale system is an electronic point of sale (epos) that replaces a cash register.

The point of sale system functions by reading a bank card and transmitting that data to a computer or authorisation network for reporting activity. This epos system is usually used in retail merchants or hotels and restaurants.

There are lots of point of sale software that is customisable to suit different retailers needs. For example restaurants don’t usually have point of sale displays, instead they use a mobile point of sale, allowing the customer to pay at the table. There are many different types of software you can install on an epos system, such as tools for looking up inventory, analyse sales figures and retrieve a sales history.
