Processor

A processor is an organisation, commonly a bank, that is connected to VISANet and/or Banknet and provides credit card authorisation (an authorisation processor). A processor processes payments and/or clearing and settlement services on behalf of a member. Once processed, the processor forwards this data to the credit card association, who in turn communicates it to the issuer.
