Ticket

A ticket is a document that is printed or processed at the time of a transaction using a credit or debit card.

This ticket, also known as a sales slip, has information such as the time and date, the product or service that has been purchased, the individual prices, tax and the type of card payment. Many establishments use a POS system (point of sale system), which can comprise of a cash register, computer, monitor, POS receipt printer and a card reading machine. Another way of producing tickets can be through the use of thermal printers. These printers use thermal paper rolls and do not require ink.

A sales invoice is another example of a ticket. Unlike sales slips, sales invoices are not documents that state transaction completion but instead are requests of payment. Sales invoices include date and time, request of price, request date and any discounts finalised.
